Aamir Khan leaves Ranbir Kapoor orphaned in Sanjay Dutt biopic

Aamir Khan is known to play interesting characters, and actively seek out roles outside his comfort zone. Be it the twins in Dhoom 3, or a 55-year old wrestler from Haryana, Aamir has gone about them with equal panache. However, as it turns out even Aamir Khan gets scared once in a while.

Having initially agreed to play the role of Sunil Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on the life of Sanjay Dutt. the Ghajini actor changed his mind last minute and has left Ranbir Kapoor orphaned, who will be playing the character of Sanjay Dutt.

According to a source close to the film, “Aamir had liked Sr Dutt’s character sketch in the film and had shown interest in playing the role, but changed his mind later.” Now, the makers who were banking on Aamir Khan to run around like headless chickens before they begin shoot.

Some reports also suggest Sonam Kapoor has been approached to play a significant role in the film, which will see her reunite with Ranbir for the first time since their debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. After Aamir’s back out the film lies in a precarious positions with insiders even doubting if the film will get to the floors, unless they can find someone credible to play the lead roles around Ranbir Kapoor.
